The Singapore Parliament has adopted the Resource Sustainability Bill aimed at reducing waste and urging large producers of e-waste to reuse and recycle more. Part of the government's Zero Waste Masterplan, the bill intends to promote circular economy and resource sustainability by imposing norms concerning the collection and treatment of e-waste, food waste, and packaging waste.
The bill regulates the collection and disposal of e-waste by producers and retailers while imposing limits to the public collection of e-waste. It requires companies that produce or import regulated products responsible for the collection and management of their e-waste.
