Russia passes new Internet tax bill

The Russian State Duma has approved a new law, which taxes foreign Internet companies with a value added tax (VAT) on the sale of online content. The new law has also been called the 'Google tax law', and requires foreign companies to register in Russia 'and submit information on their sales in the country.' If the law passes the Federation Council it will be implemented on 1 January 2017.
